Terms of Use

Last updated: March 9, 2026

Acceptance

By accessing RateMyHomeHealth.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will post changes on this page with a revised date. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice on the site. We recommend reviewing these terms periodically. Continued use of the site following notice of changes indicates your acknowledgment of the updated terms.

What this site is

RateMyHomeHealth is an independent public-interest directory of Medicare-certified home health agencies in the United States. All agency data — quality of patient care star ratings, CAHPS patient experience scores, hospitalization rates, functional improvement measures, and ownership information — is sourced directly from the CMS Home Health Compare dataset (data.cms.gov) and is updated quarterly. We do not create, modify, or editorialize this data.

We are not affiliated with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal government, any state agency, or any home health agency or healthcare organization.

Not medical or legal advice

Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice, legal advice, or a recommendation to choose or avoid any specific agency. CMS data reflects government quality assessments at a specific point in time. Conditions at any agency may have changed since the last CMS update. Always conduct your own due diligence, speak with providers directly, and consult qualified professionals before making care decisions.

Data accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to display CMS data accurately, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the information. CMS updates its Home Health Compare dataset quarterly. Data displayed on this site may lag behind CMS by up to 90 days. For the most current official data, visit data.cms.gov or Medicare Care Compare.

No endorsements or paid placements

RateMyHomeHealth does not accept payment from agencies in exchange for improved rankings, removal of quality flags, or any form of preferential treatment. Agencies are ranked and displayed based solely on their CMS Quality of Patient Care star rating and publicly available government data. The presence of an agency on this site is not an endorsement.

Agency portal and claimed listings

Agencies may claim their listing to add supplemental information such as a website URL, contact details, agency description, and photos. Supplemental information provided by agencies is clearly distinguished from CMS data. We reserve the right to remove supplemental content that is inaccurate, misleading, or violates these terms. Claiming a listing does not affect an agency's CMS rating or data displayed on this site.

Intellectual property

The site design, layout, written editorial content, and blog articles are the property of RateMyHomeHealth and may not be reproduced without permission. CMS agency data is public domain and sourced from a federal government dataset.

Prohibited use

You may not use this site to:

  • Scrape, copy, or reproduce our original site design, layout, or editorial content for commercial purposes without permission. Note: the underlying CMS agency data is federal public domain and is not subject to this restriction.
  • Attempt to manipulate how agency data or rankings are displayed on this site
  • Submit false or misleading information through the agency portal
  • Engage in any activity that disrupts or overloads the site infrastructure

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RateMyHomeHealth and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or reliance on any information displayed. This includes but is not limited to decisions made regarding home health agency selection based on information found on this site.

Governing law and dispute resolution

RateMyHomeHealth is operated independently by an international operator and is not incorporated in any single national jurisdiction. These terms are therefore interpreted under general principles of international commercial law, without reference to the conflict-of-law rules of any specific country.

Step 1 — Good faith resolution. Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and give us 30 days to resolve the issue informally. Most concerns can be handled this way.

Step 2 — Binding arbitration. If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these terms or your use of this site shall be finally settled by binding arbitration administered by JAMS International under its International Arbitration Rules. The seat of arbitration shall be London, England. Proceedings shall be conducted in English. The arbitrator's award shall be final and may be enforced in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Small claims. For disputes involving claims under $5,000 USD, arbitration shall be conducted by document and electronic submission only, without an in-person or video hearing, unless the arbitrator determines otherwise. This keeps the process proportionate for minor disputes.

Exception — injunctive relief. Either party may seek emergency injunctive or other equitable relief from any court of competent jurisdiction solely to prevent irreparable harm while arbitration is pending. Seeking such relief does not waive the right to arbitrate the underlying dispute.

Severability. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable under applicable law, that provision is modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
